I didn’t start MAWA because health has always been easy for me. Quite the opposite. For over 15 years I’ve been trying to understand a body that seemed to react to almost everything.
Story
My journey has included stomach problems, SIBO, histamine problems, bloating, food reactions, hypothyroidism, extreme fatigue, skin and hair problems, hormonal challenges and nerve pain in the face and jaw.
I’ve tried loads of things. Different ways of eating. Supplements. Fasting. Conventional healthcare. Functional health. And at times I’ve almost been afraid of food, because something that worked one day could cause symptoms the next. When public healthcare couldn’t identify anything wrong, I turned to a private clinic, Funmed.
But somewhere along the way, my way of looking at health changed. Instead of just asking “How do I get rid of this symptom?” I began to ask “What is my body trying to tell me?”
I started documenting. I learned about digestion, real food, blood sugar, the thyroid, hormones, minerals, the nervous system and recovery. I began to see connections between areas that I had previously treated as separate problems.
For me, simple, nutrient-dense and above all animal-based food has become an important piece of the puzzle. But MAWA isn’t about everyone eating exactly as I do. It’s about getting to know your own body.
My journey is still a journey. I’m not entirely symptom-free, but I feel better than I have in a long time. I don’t want to pretend that I’ve found a magic solution or that everything is always perfect. But today I understand my body in a completely different way than before. And that is a big part of why MAWA exists.
Real food. Nervous system. Hormones. Digestion. Recovery. And above all, starting to see the body as a whole.
